I love serving as Chair of the DNC Native Caucus because it allows me to uplift the voices of Native people at the very heart of national politics.
I am a member of the Navajo Nation from Lupton/ Tsé Si Ani Arizona.
Our communities have too often been left out of critical conversations that shape this country. In this role, I can help ensure that our issues—sovereignty, economic opportunity, voting rights, healthcare, education, and cultural preservation—are not only heard but acted upon.
I find joy in bringing together Native Democrats from every corner of the country, creating a space where we can strategize, support one another, and demonstrate the power of our collective voice. It is deeply meaningful to build bridges between Tribal Nations and the Democratic Party, reminding both sides that our values—respect for the land, fairness, equity, and community—are central to the Democratic vision.
What I love most is the responsibility to open doors for the next generation of Native leaders. Every meeting, every convention, every resolution is a chance to build visibility, to remind America that Native people are still here, leading with strength and resilience.
Being Chair is not just about holding a title—it’s about service, advocacy, and love for my people. It is both an honor and a calling, and I am proud to continue this work.
